Tom van Nouhuys studied at the Hotelschool in The Hague, followed by a master at VU Amsterdam, where he focused on cultural entrepreneurship. Shortly after finishing his study, he wrote together with Jan Bank a book about the entrepreneurial success of the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, where he often played himself as an amateur violinist.

Since 2011, Tom is director of the monumental Pampus Island, where he wants to use its unique history as an inspiration for a sustainable future.

Tom lives together with his family in a 17th century monumental house near Nijmegen. Beside his work at Pampus, Tom is also member of the supervisory board of arthouse LUX in Nijmegen.
