Bart Severi

Bart Severi (1978) is Head of the Department of Urban Development and Public Infrastructure of the City of Diest (Belgium). Currently, he is the main project lead of the redevelopment of the Citadel, a large heritage site located in the city centre, which is being redeveloped as a new urban area.

He has experience in climate neutrality, heritage preservation and urban development. He has a background in information strategy and modern history and has a particular interest in smart city initiatives.

Previously a member of the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee, he worked on strategies to safeguard the world’s cultural memory.
